MANAGEMENT ADVICE | MOTOR
VEHICLE SECURITY
The incident rate of car thefts and malicious damage continues to
increase. Motor vehicle manufacturers continue to improve security
of vehicles but many claims are as a result of human error.
Some common sense actions can reduce the risk of theft or damage
enormously. For example:
• |
Garage vehicles whenever possible.
|
• |
When street parking, give thought to the location.
Avoid dark,
quiet turnings or parking on corners where the vehicle can be
clipped
by a turning car.
|
• |
Never leave the keys in an unattended vehicle.
Any resulting
claim will almost certainly be refused by your insurer.
|
• |
Do not leave any personal possessions on display
whilst the
vehicle is unattended. |
