It is crucial to make sure that you are adequately insured in order to
receive full settlement in the event of a claim. Some insurers will not
apply the ‘Average’ condition to assess possible under-insurance in
the event of a claim but only if you have accepted their valuation. Otherwise you will be penalised for under-insurance.

Some items, such a listed property, a vinyl record collection or a
library of books, can be difficult to value. James Hallam is willing to
assist and we have access to both insurers and professional valuers
who can advise you on a reasonable basis to insure.
