I joined James Hallam in December 2014 specifically to head up the Real Estate Division. My career in insurance spans over 35 years from starting out at an insurer, Sun Alliance, before becoming a broker in 1989. I have a broad experience in all classes of insurance including Construction but I specialise in the Property Owners sector. I particularly like meeting clients and building strong relationships.

I’m a keen cricketer and captain my local team. My other interests include watching football and helping out at my son’s team, going to the gym, travelling and socialising with friends.

Andy Dischamps

I have had a distinguished career in insurance broking for the past 40 years looking after my many clients, both private and corporate.

In 2016, I set up AS Investments Ltd (t/as James Hallam Real Estate which is an Appointed Representative of James Hallam Ltd), of which I am Executive Director. Both Andy Dischamps and Daniel Hanington, who are employed by James Hallam, continue to work closely with me, providing administrative support.

I not only specialise in Property insurances, which for many years I have been a niche broker, but also deal with most other general insurance classes of insurance.

I am innovative and set up one of the first specialist schemes for LVT disputes along with bespoke policy covers for many of my property clients.

I have been married for 40 years and have 3 children, love travelling and enjoy playing golf.

I have worked as a Senior Account Handler at James Hallam Real Estate since 2014. I work closely with Andy Dischamps and have done for over 15 years. In that time I have developed strong relationships with our clients. During my career in insurance, I have covered many areas including Household, Motor, High Net Worth, Commercial and Property Owners.

Outside of the office, I am a motor enthusiast, love to travel, enjoy football, socialising with my friends and attending music events.

Daniel Hanington

I have worked in the commercial insurance industry for 36 years, specialising in the real estate insurance sector for the past 28 years. I am a hard-working, conscientious individual who strongly believes that quality of service is key to both winning and maintaining client business in an environment that depends on a team ethos.

I have extensive experience of conventional real estate disciplines and construction related covers including Property Owners (commercial and residential – single, multiple and mixed portfolio), Contract Works, Rights of Light Indemnity and other Legal Indemnity classes, Directors & Officers Liability, Engineering and Terrorism.

Outside of work, I like to spend time with my family and two dogs. When spare time allows, I am a keen supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and have been a drummer for some 40 plus years, and still enjoy performing regularly with several local bands.

I am Senior Client Advisor and I joined James Hallam in January 2021. I specialise in providing residential and commercial property owners insurance for a wide range of individual and commercial clients. I strive to build strong relationships with my clients in order to fully understand their needs and then negotiate the best possible terms with insurers to maximise value and achieve the best outcome for the client.

I am Cert CII qualified and I hold a master’s degree in Economics and Capital Markets. I previously worked for another independent broker where I acquired 12 years’ industry experience servicing a book of residential property owners policies for wholesale and retail clients, including other brokers, managing agents, freeholders and residents management companies.

When not at work I spend time with my two sons and husband. We enjoy walking in the countryside and cooking. I also like running and I am a keen skier.
