Meet the team

I am Group Head of SME. Following a decade in commercial insurance, I set up a brokerage in 2000 specialising in SME business and successfully sold this to James Hallam when I joined in 2007.

I am responsible for the group’s placement, process and distribution of all our Affinity and SME business. I oversee the growth and management of all teams who handle Affinity and SME business as well as manage our Chelmsford branch.

I am originally from Manchester but since moving down in 2000 my feet are firmly planted very happily in Essex.

Graham Whyatt

I am Martin Fagan and I lead the SME division. My insurance career started in 1996, where I was originally a lead generator. The company successfully grew and was set up as an SME Brokerage in 2000. Since then, I have managed & developed the SME team offering which is specialist and customer focused. In 2007 we were acquired by James Hallam and we continue to go from strength to strength as a specialist SME division.

I’m originally from London, enjoy travel and am particularly fond of California. I consider myself to be a bit of a foodie and love to cook. I’m more than a bit of a geek and a huge Doctor Who fan.

Martin Fagan

I am Clark Donaldson and I manage the SME Team in Dumfries. My insurance career began in 2003, working initially as a Trainee in Private Clients within a community based Brokerage. I duly became a Commercial Account Executive in 2011. THE Brokerage was acquired by James Hallam in 2016. Following a further local acquisition a major restructure of the operations in Scotland was undertaken leading to a dedicated SME Department being formed in Dumfries.

I have always lived and worked in Dumfries. When I am not in the office I enjoy travelling and watching motorsport, in particular F1.
